Hong Kong 2018 // Day One - Ngong Ping

Last May, we went to Hong Kong to celebrate my 18th birthday. (which was... a few months late. but hey, I'm thankful about that.)

We were outside by 3 A.M, waiting for our Grab driver to pick us up. Then waited for a few hours for our 7 A.M flight, if I'm not mistaken. We arrived at Hong Kong around 10 A.M.
My mom DIY-ed this trip. We didn't get any "tour" or "guides" because it's too pricey, too time-consuming (if that's the right term) and too hectic. We wouldn't enjoy the trip if we kept on rushing things, right?
Our apartment was somewhere in Wan Chai. We rode a bus that has... B11(?) on it.

We waited too long for the caretaker. We found the apartment by ourselves. We even bought a simcard so that we could contact the caretaker. We were hungry and tired, and were still carrying our heavy backpacks. We couldn't get inside the apartment without her. I think it almost took us an hour to get in. (Thanks, man.)
When we got to our room, we all had the same reaction: "Wow."

I didn't get to take pictures of the room but it was soooo small. We had a bunk bed. I was supposed to sleep on the deck but.. I got cold and my parents said that it didn't seem safe to. Knowing myself, I'd probably end up on the floor.

We went to McDonalds (which is about a few blocks away from our apartment) before going to Ngong Ping/Lantau Island to see Buddha.

We didn't get to go near the Tian Tan Buddha because it was already 5 P.M. The Cable Cars are only til 6 in the evening. It was really foggy and cold when we were on our way back. My phone died too, I was thinking it was because of the coldness. lol.

We were supposed to go to Victoria Peak but it was raining. So we've decided to walk around the IFC Mall and the streets.

Felt like Christmas.

Day Two was definitely better than Day One. I'll be blogging about it next.

yay for another post this year. :)
and yes, i choose to "write" this post in lowercase letters.
it's been a while since i posted a "real" blogpost. i didn't have enough time and motivation to come back here. i ran out of ideas to blog about (but i do have drafts. i'm just too lazy to finish them.)

so a short update before i come back to blogging.
i'm almost nineteen. (wow!!!) i'll be a college freshman this august. i'll be taking information technology. i got braces. i dyed my hair with crepe paper (lol). i learned, experienced and realized a lot of stuff in a short period of time.

i still love to dress up; i just don't have enough time to do so.
i love to travel. i should post about our HK trip last may. hehe
i still draw. i've been trying out digital illustrations.
i love creating something new from a scratch. i still love to "DIY".
i still can't dance. i like singing but that doesn't mean that i'm good at it. haha
i looooooove stationeries, anything cute and anything pastel. i love anything that is visually good/anything pleasing to look at.
i love reading. i just need to pick a certain book that would match my taste/mood.
i still write. i'm currently writing something on wattpad (oh! good old days!), it's something about my life, mixed with a bit of my imagination so no one would figure out that it's me.
i really want to learn how to play the piano. i'm planning to buy a new one but.. well.

some things never change, eh?
as demi lovato said, "i'm maturing, not changing. i promise."

2018.

It's been a while since I last posted, almost 2 years to be exact.
I didn't get to post about Cebu when we when on a short vacation in February last year. I didn't get to post about the PxMWorkshop that I attended on July 2016. I didn't get to post about how 11th grade started for me.
I've been pretty busy for the past two years, and I've gotten busier now that I'm already in my 12th grade. (College, soon. Eee!)

To whoever is reading this post,
Happy New Year. I hope this year will be a great one for you, your family and your friends.
I hope you left everything negative and toxic in 2017; and I hope you're starting your year the way you wanted.

Happy New Year.
I hope you'd fulfill all of your goals. I also hope you'd fill your notebook/s with memories and pictures - not just doodles. (haha) Be more positive and be someone you'd want your younger self to have as a rolemodel. (Good luck.)

Hong Kong Disneyland

Hello, Readers!

Welcome to the third part of my Hong Kong Travel Diaries.

And this time, you'll be reading my mini-adventure at Hong Kong Disneyland.

Disneyland is the happiest place on Earth, as they say.

Every kid wants to be at Disneyland, even for once. Well, if you're a huge fan like me, you would come back every year. . . or might as well, stay there forever.

ticket prices:

1 - day ticket // Standard day

General Admission (Ages 12 to 64) - HK$539

Child (Ages 3-11) - HK$385

Senior (65+) - HK$100

2 - day ticket

General Admission (Ages 12 to 64) - HK$739

random thought:

I would've enjoyed the park if I had enough time strolling around, if I wasn't that tired enough and if it wasn't so cold.

I was freezing! All thanks to Elsa.

But I am very satisfied with my stay at Disneyland.

Anyways, back to the blogpost. :)

FOOD

Foods at the resort are quite pricey.

I think we only ate waffles at the park as our late lunch. My sister and I wanted to try the frozen treats but it's not a really great idea to do so when you're cold.. Oh well, maybe next time then.

We were about to go inside but then the parade happened. . . So we stopped by to watch it and went to Tomorrowland after.

FLIGHTS OF FANTASY PARADE

As soon as we got inside the park, people are already crowded at both sides of the street. As usual, I had no idea why but then we heard someone telling people to stay at both sides of the street so we'd see the parade better.

I saw Mickey and friends, the characters from Winnie the Pooh, Toy story and the Lion King, Dumbo, Lilo and Stitch, Tinkerbell, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella and Belle.

TOMORROWLAND

Tomorrowland is where space-y attractions are located.

We didn't get to tour it around because we were looking for food. hehe.

I think I saw Stitch. And from what I know, the space mountain is also in Tomorrowland.

TOY STORY LAND

Toy Story Land is where you'll feel smaller than everything you see. Like literally.

The dominos/blocks are bigger than you - which will make you feel like you're one of Andy's toys.

I told you so. lol!

And we rode the Slinky Dog Spin. It's not really that scary.

It gets faster every round but it's all good.

And hey, I almost forgot to tell you!

I met Jessie and Woody from Toy Story :)

FANTASYLAND

We didn't get to tour around this one that much.

We passed by the Mad Hatter Tea Cup ride. I wanted to ride that one. . . but I easily get dizzy. Maybe next time....

But I saw Mickey and Minnie Mouse at the Fantasy Garden. I was already in line, waiting for my turn, but then they waved goodbye and went to the other direction. I was so confused. Everyone ahead of me was busy chatting and I guess they still waited for them to come back.

The cold temperature bothered me so much that I didn't try to wait for them. Sorry, Elsa.

We didn't get to take pictures at Adventureland and Grizzly Gulch.

But we went inside Mystic Manor. The ride was fun. . . I was amazed with the graphics and the special effects.

We went back to Main Street, USA just in time for the Paint the Night parade.

Then we waited for the fireworks at around 9 PM. I was talking to my friends about school. And I heard about the thesis papers to be passed the next day, I was not happy about it. I was freezing, tired and hungry; with great news to hear. I haven't even started on it. lol.

Anyways, here are some pictures of the fireworks!

My mom said that she was touched by the fireworks display. Sometimes, I know she's watching the video over and over again because I can still hear the songs. lol.

The fireworks were beautiful. Everyone was looking at the sky with awe.

Disneyland is a really magical place.

Hoping to come back soon.
